In 2021, we joined forces with DCA and are since operating as a Joint Country Programme (JCP) with Strategic Priorities for the period 2021-2024being, Gender based violence(GBV), Climate Smart Economic empowerment (CSEE) and Fighting inequality (FI).

The NCA/DCA Malawi Joint Country Programme was created to enhance synergy and positive sustainable development in the lives of the poor and marginalized people in the target communities of Malawi and to reduce costs and increase efficiency and effectiveness.
For NCA/DCA to continue developing its and partners’ programmes in Malawi, we are now seeking an experienced person with solid knowledge and skills to fill the following vacant position in the Country office based in Lilongwe:
FINANCE OFFICER
The successful candidate will be a part of the NCA/DCA team at the NCA Malawi Representation and will be based in Lilongwe.
Main Responsibilities
• Control documentation of vouchers before booking and preparation of vouchers for submission in Maconomy for posting by the line manager
• Prepare payroll and ensure salaries are paid by due date.
• Ensure that treasury level is always sufficient and anticipate coming needs for request.
• Handle petty cash management and be responsible of the cash safety. Maintain the minimum level and ensure the maximum threshold is adhered in single transaction.
• Take lead in monthly bank, cash and balance account reconciliation. Expense prepayments monthly to ensure timely charging of projects.
• Assist the Finance Coordinator in the management of the asset register with all assets of the organization including regular spot checks.
Specific Responsibilities
• Preparation of payments, filling of documents and making sure that tax compliance is followed. Ensure all the documentation and signatories are obtained for preparation of payment vouchers.
• Entering data in Maconomy and other tasks whenever needed.
• Support the Finance Coordinator in terms of information for projects, financial reporting, consolidating partner budget, preparing transfer to partners, filing of documents related to finance.
• Assist actively in the institutional audit, project audits, internal review, due diligences and others as needed.
• Ensure that all project payments are made according to the organization’s financial management and local procedures.
Education Qualification, knowledge and Skills:
• BA in Accounting with 4-6 years’ experience in areas of office accounting, budgeting and reporting, and partner monitoring.
• Knowledge of any accounting packages
• Strong written and verbal communication in English is required.
• Demonstrated proficiency in donor reporting, with strong writing, editing, and critical analysis skills.
• Solid ability to communicate concisely, respectfully, and with impact.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements and needs.
