BLANTYRE, MALAWI
The Namibia Revenue Agency (NamRA) has formally extended its congratulations to Mr Felix Tambulasi following his appointment as the new Commissioner General of the Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA).
Mr Tambulasi officially began his tenure on Monday, 27 October 2025, succeeding the outgoing Mr Dan Daka.
His assumption of office marks a pivotal moment for MRA’s leadership as Malawi intensifies its drive to mobilise domestic revenue collection.
In a statement acknowledging the new appointment, NamRA commended Mr Tambulasi for his distinguished career in public service and his legal expertise, highlighting his decade-long experience within the MRA, where he previously served as Director of Legal Services and Company Secretary from 2011 to 2021.
“We look forward to strengthening regional collaboration under your leadership as we continue advancing the revenue agenda together,” the Agency communicated.
The change in leadership coincides with a critical period for revenue bodies across the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region, which are currently deepening cooperation on key initiatives such as digital taxation, customs modernisation, and robust information exchange mechanisms.
NamRA expressed confidence that Mr Tambulasi’s expertise in law and tax administration will significantly enhance coordination within the region’s established revenue network.
A qualified lawyer, Mr Tambulasi holds a Master’s Degree in Commercial Law (LLM) and contributes to tax law education as a respected part-time lecturer at the University of Malawi.
His stewardship is expected to bring a renewed focus to compliance, efficiency, and institutional reforms within Malawi’s tax system.
NamRA concluded its message by reaffirming its commitment to continued collaboration with the MRA through joint projects, technical exchanges, and policy harmonisation efforts designed to foster fair, transparent, and sustainable revenue management across Southern Africa.
